CAMP BEAVERBROOK!

Found a friend on FB, someone I don't know...? He wrote:
Hi Hailey,
If you would like to join the Camp Beaverbrook group you must tell me what years you attended Beaverbrook, the names of your counselor(s) and a few details about camp. Please also respond to my friend request.
Thanks,
Matt "Flash" C.
1977-1985

Here is what I wrote to him so that I could join the Camp Beaverbrook group:
Hi "Flash" !
• I remember a lot about Camp Beaverbrook, Camp Beaverbrook, Camp Beaverbrook! Hey! My last counselor there was "Trinket." The last year I attended was the summer after my 5th grade year, 1976. I invited my friend Poppy D avis [letter separated so she can't find this when she goggles her name... I already have. There are actually lots of P--D-- around.] to join me--she promptly ditched me when camp started. I learned that I can always make new friends.
• I remember the Browns and even the orientation meeting I went to many years before that with my mother in Orinda. At camp Mrs. Brown (Niha) took me aside once and sweetly sang just to me! She taught me "Five Foot Two."
• I remember swimming in the scary lake/pool.
• My brother (David Meyer) also went for several years. We figured it out once that we went for 4 or 5 years. I started going to "sleep-away" camps when I was very young.
• In one album I have letters that my family sent me. I also remember my Grandma Ream's care packages! That I had to share with my entire tent, which was cool. She sent a ton of pink puffed rice balls... cleverly packed so only a few showed on top, so I didn't have to share with All the girls!
• If that isn't enough proof I could make a video of my kids singing a best-of-Beaverbrook medley, including such memorable hits as, "Oh Chester," "Madeline Catalina," and "Down By the Old Mill Stream." Yes, I call them Beaverbods when I wake them up... as in, "Wakey, wakey Beaverbods!"
Thanks for requesting my FB friendship!

J & the L-bow.

Before:

This is FUD and J having a great day skiing in the spring... springy snow.
After:

This is K and J. J broke his elbow... in the springy snow. The slush grabbed him! Threw him up in the air and then slammed him into the slush, without mercy. The damnthing is, that elbow, as the slushy snow knew, was already injured by a dramatic bounce on a trampoline.

The first picture is from the top of Sundance and the second is from the most beautiful one room school ever. It is at Camp Floyd -- 25 miles from Lehi.

O is for Oma Stella.

My cousin Vivian sent this to me. Isn't it great? I miss my grandmothers A Lot.
My brother DFM is on the left, Oma Stella and then H.
Everyone thinks it is M... same great legs and great fashion sense.

T is for the TSA. Oh bother.

My favorite brother, D, sent me a link to an article about a fellow who couldn't make it through security with his nifty MacBook Air. Read it for yourself:

Yeah, that is crazy. I appreciate what they are trying to do and always cooperate. But ... I've wondered about TSA training. And who can't tell that a MacBook Air isn't a computer?

On my last flight from Oakland to SLC I ran out of time and didn't get my car keys out of my suitcase... (which of course was lost. We didn't get it for 2 days. C & S had to "rescue" M and me. S didn't mind the drive.) I also ran out of time and didn't take my sewing shears out of my carry-on and re-pack them in my checked-in bag. Oh shoot, maybe they can mail them to me, I thought.

There is NO WAY those things should have gone on a plane. Sure enough they stopped me. The TSA nice-guy (dope) took the sharp "knife edge", shinny, pointy shears out of my bag and measured them against his hand and said they were ok. They can't be longer than 7 inches. "Just barely, maam." 'Eh? How many of your key-chain pocket knives have they tossed?

M is always wanded, felt and generally checked-out no matter what sort of documentation I have, what I show or explain about her cochlear implant. Lucky me, last time I was given the same PERSONAL treatment. M now always travels in two piece outfits so that we don't have to lift up her dress ever again.

(Listening to ELO, "Don't bring me doooowwwwwnnnn.... Brrrrrruce" Who/what is Bruce?)
