Below are 2 interesting links. One from Ron Howard and the other from Ralph Stanley.
This post is meant to explain to some family/friends/neighbors why I'm voting for Obama.
Dear Friends,
My pal Zina B. sent me an odd link to a CNN video of Peruvian Shamans supporting Obama. This reinforces the fact many around the world are looking to America for change towards a more diplomatic approach to the many issues that face our planet, not just our neighborhoods. Truly, it is an odd endorsement.
Today I saw/heard 2 other endorsements for Barack Obama. One is Ralph Stanley, the legendary bluegrass musician. The other is Ron Howard (actor/director). They are both, calm, reasoned, serious about issues and do not attack McCain or Palin. While light hearted, they are dignified. They present facts.
These endorsements only state a case, with clarity -- actors/musicians are mere people. I believe Pa (Andy Griffith) is right, "People are funny. Sometimes change scares 'em. They'd rather keep doing the same ol' thing that's been messing them up than change to the thing that could help them."
As puzzling as I find a vote for the Republicans this year, after some of the worst 8 in the history of the United States of American, (ending with a Republican sponsored $700 Billion bailout of mostly corporations) some find my support for Obama equally unbelievable.
I appreciate his calm, steady and conservative demeanor, his emphasis on personal responsibility, his devotion to his family, his incredible story and many accomplishments, his dignity. His campaign has been very well managed. He is not calling McCain a communist, socialist, or linking him to fringe associates, or Palin's experience or family--all of which call into question a favorable view of the Republican ticket in 2008. ... There you have it: My reasons.

Ya' know... this Sarah Palin nomination makes me a bit ill. While looking for something else I came across this link... I think it speaks to why McSame chose her.
http://www.hollywood-newsroom. com [note: this site has changed since I originally posted this!]
Here is the quote from the blog [that I read on Friday]:
We just know one thing, Sarah Palin is kinda hot. Yeah, we’re all nodding, we’d tap it. A lot hotter than frackin’ Joe “Jerry Van Dyke” Biden. Sarah Palin, John McCain’s Vice President pick for the Republicans, is totallyMILFy GILFy. [look that up yourself, ohh ick.] Just look at her, ya know it, she’s totally naughty, kinky, and takes no bullshit. Mmmm, Sarah could be MY VISE President any day.

... We’d all, guys I mean, have boners for her, which would control our voting decisions. She’s the anti-Hillary Clinton — who was a major boner deflater. The cock controls the decision of men, and we do dumb stuff for chicks, which includes voting for a Republican in 08.
Be sure to watch her on Craig Ferguson. He nails it when he identifies her "naughty librarian vibe." What do you think?01 April 2008
W is for Watch this.
There is plenty of drama revolving around a 15 year old S. Thankfully the police report I need to write isn't about her , yet.
Noelle's blog is great. She is so hep. So is this video on it, you must check it out:
America isn't broken yet.
That is my title because I thought while watching it that perhaps there is still hope for America.
Not sure about our haute couture style, as demonstrated in mall fashions... uniforms, tank tops...
have a cold. coughing hurts. can't sleep. can't think. boo hoo. hoo.

D if for Drums! Shapity babibity BANGgGgGgG!

N's first drum recital was last week. The order was voluntary. He saw how it went after the first student and went second. He went to the front, said his name and announced: I love to play the drums! Then he channeled Animal, from the Muppets.

N is for Nina Simone! Ain't Got No...I've Got Life
While scooting around the web on my way to my cassoulet recipe on my computer I came across this Nina Simone video. Really dig it. Want to teach the song to my kids so that when they are all grown up and feeling blue they can sing it. Not so sure the line about "bobbies" would be right for a Primary Program, no matter how straight face it is sung. Love that.
I've got to figure out how to link the video, in the mean time here is the link to YouTube.
