My kind of family van.

Had a conversation last night with a Utah Valley Democrat. She wondered what she was doing here... I guess I do too. Lovely lovely person. But as Popeye so eloquently said, "I yam what I yam," and so I am pretty comfortable here. I also realize that thoughtful, caring people all all around me. Witness this van.

I saw this van parked at the Scera Theater. [Theatre?] I stopped in my tracks. It was a home school event and whoa: Dig the Pro-family, Pro-Obama sticker. That is cool. I am very happy to see support for President Obama, especially in Utah Co. Give the man a chance to clean the colossal mess left from the last Eight years by Bush & Co.

Please also note that I've smudged the license plate numbers... don't want any vitriolic Ut. Co. nut jobs coming after my new friends! -- also not writing details of recently received emails & my lovely friend's recent experiences at the hands of Ut. Co. Republicans.

Y is for YES!

What a brilliant poster design. (Nice re-touched label pin too.)

found this on Bizarro Blog.
Dan Pirarro is brilliant. His blog is a funny fest.

Apologies to neighbors, friends and family if my enthusiasm for an articulate, devoted, educated, hard working, peace seeking, skinny black man with a funny name running for President of America causes you grief. Please consider the alternative.

Barack Obama, the man whose name sets off the spell check, is very cool. Just finished listening to Dreams of My Father. It is a very good book and gave me more appreciation for him and his experiences.

O is for Oooof, what a way to wind down a day.

GET THIS: (This helped to pull S out of her Self (Ugh.))
M KNOCKED OUT/OVER TWO OF HER FRONT SIDE TOP TEETH TONIGHT. With help from K's pal's foot and the trampoline. Just an accident. After a fast visit to Dr. Pitts they are back in place. She can't eat any thing hard for two weeks. Thumb sucking is actually good for her.
She was a perfect patient. It hurt quite a lot and she didn't create a scene. Bapa called her a "special dish" today... not the "regular #18"?

Tomorrow I hope to post my police report! (I called 911 to report a reckless driver. The 911 operator asked me to pull over too. M and I saw the guy tested and arrested...! Crazy.) It has been some day. April 1st.

O is for Owls

For more owl adorabilia check out my pal's blog: Mom's Purse.

Just bought this for J's 10th birthday. J is very very cute, even though he doesn't want to be.

A wise old owl sat in an oak.
The more he saw [or heard], the less he spoke
The less he spoke, the more he heard.
Now why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

Wanna know more about the rhyme? Check the history out... cool internet!

O is for OUTRAGE!

I'm wondering, as I pass gas stations that suddenly sell gas for 3.26 a gallon, WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?
I think the dems in the house and senate are doing their bit, Bush is doing his (veto-ing everything), BILLIONS are being wasted in an unfounded war in Iraq, Osama is running free, the best and the most beautiful of America are being killed (3 from Utah this week!), our country is awash is drugs and grime. It makes me sick. On the news I hear about a fire in LA, the queen of England's visit to the US and her witty remarks and bumbling Bush famous flub-ups, a very small town in Kansas was obliterated by a tornado--global warming is also big news. What about Bush, Cheney, Gonsales and a complete lack of leadership? An aimless war effort? I could go on.

I get emails from the Washington Post. I just read this by Andrew Cohen. It is refreshing to read some biting criticism peppered with facts. Here is the entire article.

For starters, just read this:

Texas Supreme Court to Juries: Get Bent
Let's shift our focus today from the U.S. Attorney scandal to a scandalous ruling out of Texas. But before we do, let's briefly play that "Six Degrees of Separation" game. Before he became a disastrous Attorney General, Alberto R. Gonzales was a disastrous White House counsel. And when he left that post he was replaced by Harriet Miers. And when Harriet Miers was nominated for a position on the Supreme Court, her most vocal (and some say overzealous) supporter was Texas Supreme Court Justice Nathan Hecht. Hecht is the fellow who authored the ruling that has folks fired up in the Lone Star State. And of course before Gonzales was a miserable White House counsel and a pathetic Attorney General he was a lame Justice on the Texas Supreme Court. See? Like everything else in the world, misfeasance is interrelated!

O is for Origami

After a walk in the rain with C and Ginger seeing this post on Design Mom, "O is for Origami" is about as great as technology gets. Thought I'd share the link on this letter of the day blog. (Leslie, I hope you are reading this!) Check this out: Origami! (A la ka zham!) I am looking forward to learning more about origami and this site.

I can't find my precious little Leica camera and my printer isn't cooperating so, sniffle sniffle, it is nice when technology can actually pick me up, sniffle sniffle.

This morning is N's IEP (Individual Education Plan) with USDB (Utah School for the Deaf and Blind). Basically C and I are considering legal action against them for not providing the services they promise and for just being such arrogant and apathetic poo-poo heads. I think that will hold up in court, not sure. This is not our style. C is incredibly diplomatic but, we have really had it.

I am considering driving/partially moving to Logan next fall so that M can get the services she NEEDS from a great new oral deaf program called Sound Beginnings, started by Dr. Karl White. It is incredible.
