My favorite brother, D, sent me a link to an article about a fellow who couldn't make it through security with his nifty MacBook Air. Read it for yourself:

Yeah, that is crazy. I appreciate what they are trying to do and always cooperate. But ... I've wondered about TSA training. And who can't tell that a MacBook Air isn't a computer?
On my last flight from Oakland to SLC I ran out of time and didn't get my car keys out of my suitcase... (which of course was lost. We didn't get it for 2 days. C & S had to "rescue" M and me. S didn't mind the drive.) I also ran out of time and didn't take my sewing shears out of my carry-on and re-pack them in my checked-in bag. Oh shoot, maybe they can mail them to me, I thought.
There is NO WAY those things should have gone on a plane. Sure enough they stopped me. The TSA nice-guy (dope) took the sharp "knife edge", shinny, pointy shears out of my bag and measured them against his hand and said they were ok. They can't be longer than 7 inches. "Just barely, maam." 'Eh? How many of your key-chain pocket knives have they tossed?
M is always wanded, felt and generally checked-out no matter what sort of documentation I have, what I show or explain about her cochlear implant. Lucky me, last time I was given the same PERSONAL treatment. M now always travels in two piece outfits so that we don't have to lift up her dress ever again.
