Buzy Beehiving.
I'm kinda pooped. Have a ways to go though...
C isn't doing well. How could I have known 19 years ago that in 19 short years I'd be married to such an old miserable fellow? There isn't anything I can do for him. He is getting his hip resurfaced on the 18th of December. In the meantime...
His bouts with extreme misery usually coincide with my much anticipated, look forward to, well prepared for, kinda costly events... This week is no exception. Tomorrow is the Beehive Bazaar!
I might post some pics of what I've been beehiving. Probably won't. Go see what is cooking at the Bazaar Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.
Here is the spin room gnome, dressed as a turkey, for Thanksgiving. The waddle is paper clay with red glitter hot glue running down it. He is dressed in the traditional paper bag turkey garb of the holiday.

V is for Verb-ing. Or: I got a bad case of the Verbs.
I'm up late. Have an odd sore throat, should be in bed but I'm doing something I haven't done in weeks & weeks... catching up on friends/family via blogs. Honestly, I don't get the entire computer thing but I did love watching my niece KtG's 2 beautiful daughters be adorable with lollipops (she calls the candy "a sucker"--which is what S, at age 2.5 (14 years ago!) wanted to name her little brother, which is how he got the nickname, Lollipop, just sounded like a more polite name). And I enjoyed seeing my pals Noelle & Molly in the fine Utah Valley Magazine. Zina's very authentic chicken stock is, ummm, inspiring.
Learning Facebook, houseworking, reading, grooming, shopping, cooking, loving, spinning, yard work/rototilling/planning, speech therapy going, homeschooling, churching, skiing, visiting, quilting, attending parent/teacher confrontations, I mean conferences... Right now I feel that I'm doing a lot and none of it very well. Did I mention praying?
Actually, my mind often drifts to a cousin, the mother of a baby who later this month will have surgery for bilateral cochlear implants. He is actually a very blessed child. (N & M would really benefit from bi-lateral CIs but I can't sacrifice my family on the alter of insurance appeals and we really don't have approx $+50,000 EACH right now.) My thoughts are on his mother though. For all the blogs, Facebooks etc. I wish I could just call and talk to her. How is she doing? This is a brilliant, connected mother, with a super-fantastic husband. I don't want to intrude or leave any more messages. Their family is huge and supportive so I wonder if I need to talk to her for my sake. There are so many questions that I'd like answered. Perhaps I could answer some of hers...
M, whose language is faltering, told me today that my sketchbook is all fulled-up. I'm going to filled it up a bit more and am looking forward to starting a new one.

S is for Show & Tell.
Look what I did on Tuesday! Just a touch of silliness and lovely fun.
The pins spell PAX.
A gal at the Beehive Bazaar made something like this and I liked them -- she didn't want to trade and I didn't want to spend $20. for one, especially since I knew there was a Styrofoam cone waiting for me at home and plenty of cool scraps left over from my Mom's birthday quilt. I threw in some of M's Hello Kitty ribbon, et voila! These will be fun to pull out for Christmas for the next many years.S & Co. like them as well. Noelle's term "driftwooding" is perfect here. I culled do-dads from long forgotten boxes of Christmas stocking materials. Lately a lot has been going on that is goal directed. Creative projects with a purpose. This was lovely to work on, just because.
In the beginning of The Wind in the Willows (a book that taught me that children's lit. often puts me to sleep...hard for me to finish) one critter is pleased to be not working while everyone else is. The moment a vacation starts... It is also nice when you are to meet someone, the schedule changes and then you have a hour of uninterrupted time to yourself. The house was quiet. The children were working hard at school. Classical music played in the far distant laundry room that was churning out clean clothes.

B is for Bubbles.

Hopefully these bubble wands will sell out at the Beehive Bazaar. They are perfect for someone with everything. C helped with the assembly! Thanks Sweetums!
Recipe for Blowing BUBBLE Solution
• Stir together:
6 parts WATER
2 parts liquid Joy DISHWASHING SOAP - good brand for bubbles
3/4 part CORN SYRUP, ‘cause who has glycerin hanging around? Also this way you can prove that corn syrup is in Everything!
• Use with groovy bubble wand, spill all over back porch or store in a covered container.

R is for RELENTLESS.
Lately, well for the last several months, my schedule has been back to back BIG things. The paint, inside, outside, furniture, start of school, Halloween, church calling substitution (PRIMARY MUSIC!!! I get to do music all three hours. :) That's ducky with me but I've gotta put in the time to do fine.), bathroom remuddling, Thanksgiving. Anyway, I can hear C yelling for everyone to get moving, I've got to too, but I wanted to post about the BEEHIVE BAZAAR. That is my recent relentless task for this week. I've also got something up my sleeves, and about my house for a certain very special birthday girl...
I've been busy glazing odd do-dads and firing the kiln. Looking forward to working on that today. I'm going to try and be disciplined. For me the real "F" word is FOCUS.

B is for Beehive Bazaar

The Beehive Bazaar is the new name for a great song and dance, (well, actually more like thread, bead & paint) act (varied art sale) that wonderful creative women do twice a year in the Provo. It is organized by the Brilliants: Molly, Noelle and Stephanie.
This year the Spring Show will be:
Friday May 11, 10:00am - 8pm &
Saturday, May 12, 10:00am - 6pm.
It will be at Gallery One Ten at 110 South 300 West in lovely Cheney protesting Provo, Utah.
Here is the bloggity blog blog to give you the gist of what is available: http://beehivebazaar.blogspot.com/
Don't miss it!
By the way, I love that B (above). I wish I could post it about 40 times that size, but I'd hate to crash my pals' computers.
