Bizarro app -- my second review.

Dan Piraro is a Genius! I have loved his work for years and years and am so happy to have this on my iPhone. For budget reasons I thought of switching to a blase phone ... then I remembered the beloved Bizarro app. We would be sad to live without it; I read daily it with my children. The iPhone is a perfect forum for a single panel cartoon. The archive is great to flip through. While donating blood I was reading Bizarro on my iPhone and laughing; the entire process took 4.5 minutes. Actually, I would pay extra for a deeper archive.

L is for lost Leo?

Leo? Gone from the Deseret News? Wrote a letter:

Hello,
Although we read other bits of the paper, that is all that is now left, now that all the articles are so short. I subscribe to the Deseret News for one reason: the Funny Pages.

Our favorite are:
Bizarro (when you drop that, we will simply cancel our subscription).
Leo
Pickles
Baby Blues
Mother Goose & Grim
Mutts

All my children are very sad that Leo has been replaced by the very unfunny Fort Knox. Deflocked and Cul de Sac are drippy and unfunny as well, and, if possible, getting worse.

I told my 9 year old son, who is deaf and related to Leo, that I would write to you for him, but I am sad too. Please don't skeletonize the funny pages.

Thank you for your attention.

H is for House of ORDER!

Y is for YES!

What a brilliant poster design. (Nice re-touched label pin too.)

found this on Bizarro Blog.
Dan Pirarro is brilliant. His blog is a funny fest.

Apologies to neighbors, friends and family if my enthusiasm for an articulate, devoted, educated, hard working, peace seeking, skinny black man with a funny name running for President of America causes you grief. Please consider the alternative.

Barack Obama, the man whose name sets off the spell check, is very cool. Just finished listening to Dreams of My Father. It is a very good book and gave me more appreciation for him and his experiences.

C is for Children. As in, Children are wonderful.

This might not make much sense to you if you don't link to the Bizarro blog... but I wrote a comment there today and need to put it someplace to remember it... my letter for today. Please read Pirraro's comments and the other comments about this cartoon... But first the brilliant cartoon:

H's comment:
Children (loving them, housing them, clothing them, educating them, playing with them, feeding them, bathing them, being loved by them) are not the problem. All the self-centered, self-righteous, self-absorbed, arrogant, egotistical, shallow adults that don't, and can't bother to figure out how to, care about anyone other than themselves and their stuff, including their (not our) planet are the problem.

Are the happily child-free happy that thousands of children were squished in China during the earthquake? Happy that the schools went first?

And then, what are the child-free going to do about the fanatics taking over our world with their heirs? Look at the Bush babies, not just Islamic militants.

Dan, you know I love your work. And I love this cartoon in particular but negative commentary about children and encouragement for the child-free, sticks me in the diaper zone.

All people should love and raise children. Children deserve the best. They are wonderful--we were too as children.

H is for Hahahahaha.

For some reason C thinks this is very funny. Dan Piraro is indeed brilliant, but this comic is just too damn real to be ha-ha funny.

N is for New Friends.

This one is for KatieO, a new friend. She and her sister have a great blog called Sister Skinny. Check it out if you are into the healthy body idea. I'm trying hard not to say "diet & exercise thing."

Or check this out: http://www.sisterskinny.com/

Dan Piraro could be onto something, something big! A solution to so many Americans' problems. Oh dear... It might solve so many and then create new ones. Perhaps we'd all try to actually fit/grow into the new styles. And I've heard it's really hard to catch a plane when you sag, or super-sag your pants.

B is for Bizarro!

B is for my favorite funny page ART, Bizarro by Dan Piraro. He has a great new book out from Abrams Books, "Bizarro and Other Strange Manifestations of the Art of Dan Piraro." All of his books are fantastic! C gave be about 6 of them for my birthday last year. It was a great birthday, everyone sitting around reading and laughing.
Check out his web site: http://www.bizarro.com/books/Bz_Art_of_DanPiraro.htm

Thanks Dan, for writing and sharing with this blog!
