C is for Culture.

Several of the blogs that I read are covering travel and the many wonderful sights they are seeing. In the spirit of summer travel I thought I'd post the first of a few pictures from a recent trip to Fillmore, Utah. (Actually our destination was the Grand Canyon.)

We stopped in Fillmore at an amazing house. Next to the house was a small shop full of odds and ends, created and stored over a few life times. These rocks were J's favorite. An old joke is new if you've never heard it before.

Digital cameras are the best. You can take a picture of all the things you don't want to buy and bring home.

Check this out. I wish I could figure out how to put it on this blog. Any ideas? I'm not really a big fan of television, or movies... wish I was, but I can't sit still that long (usually). This is just about my speed. Completely perfect at the gym on my spiffy iPod -- worth having the screen.

S is for Super Puppy!

Last night I read an Italian Folktale to C about a king who had a beloved son who was a pig. On his wedding night he rolled around in mud so that he might be extra attractive to his bride, the baker's daughter. By the end of the tale the pig is a handsome prince. There is some romance and gore in the between. Italo Calvino's Italian Folktales is one of my all time favorite books. ...

Well, in our tale our son is not a pig; he is a dog. J is Super Puppy. Playful, fun, affectionate, loves to be outside, patient, beautiful and smart. He is also very imaginative. Hate to think of what he might roll in before his wedding!!! We'd better work harder on reversing the spell before then!

Reminds me of the joke: A man walks into the doctor's office and says: My wife thinks she's a chicken.
Dr: Oh dear. I think we can fix that with some medication and therapy.
Man: Oh no! We'd miss the eggs!
